MEMBERSHIP UPDATE

Membership Model as a Regional Society with DOHaD

The International DOHaD Society recently announced changes to its governance and charitable status structures. As part of the governance restructure, previously existing Chapters and affiliated Societies have now been rebranded as Regional Societies and submitted new documentation to formalize this new relationship. DOHaD Canada has now formalized the transition to a Regional Society. This status change involves consolidating and centralizing administrative processes in the interest of improving communication and engagement among its members, and reducing administrative burdens on smaller societies.

As a formal Regional Society of the International DOHaD Society, going forward joining or renewing membership in DOHaD Canada will be done exclusively in conjunction with the purchase/renewal process with the International Society. In addition to the benefits listed above, one of the advantages of this consolidation process is that the International DOHaD society will reimburse DOHaD Canada 50% of all membership fees for individuals who choose DOHaD Canada as their main Regional Society! This revenue is needed for DOHaD Canada to carry out our mission via hosting events (conferences, workshops), developing educational programs, and supporting trainees through travel and research awards.

Information about membership types for the International DOHaD Society are available here.

One notable change is the launch of a new Associate Memberships tier, which is £20 per year and offers several benefits including discounted short courses, webinar recordings, and access to the Members Area of the website. To facilitate this transition, the International Society is offering a complementary Associate Membership registration to members of DOHaD Canada who are not currently full members of the International Society!  Members will be required to renew their International DOHaD Society membership on January 1st to continue their affiliation with DOHaD Canada.
